Cell biology experiment facility (CBEF) grand model
Used to conduct gravity contrast experiments and crew training for life science experiments in the microgravity environment of the JEM shared experimental facilities
The cell biology experiment facility (CBEF) grand model is used for gravity contrast experiments and crew training for life science experiments in the microgravity environment of the JEM shared experimental facilities, as well as for experiment feasibility confirmation tests. This has the same specs as the CBEF flight model. Temperature control/humidity control/CO2 concentration control and turntable rotation can be performed. It is possible to use a combination of large-size and medium-size cannisters for experiments.
Note: Japanese Experiment Module or JEM is another moniker for Kibo, Japan’s manned space facility
