avatarin Inc., a start-up company as a spin-out from ANA HOLDINGS INC., aims to "Open the door to a future where global mobility is democratized and anyone can be anywhere, anytime, instantly.” Our unique avatar technology helps the world transcend distance, time, and physical limitations to transport human presence and necessary skills to where they are needed, when they are needed. This new form of mobility will help us create a future in which everyone can equally participate in society. And by making this a shared capability, it will enable us to find new collaborative solutions to tackle the complex issues facing our communities and the world. In 2020, the "space avatar" had been launched to the International Space Station (ISS) by the KOUNOTORI, an unmanned cargo transfer spacecraft, and installed in the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo" of the ISS, where the the general public remotely operated the space avatar from the ground for the first time in the world. In addition, a technology demonstration had been conducted assuming collaborative work with astronauts in the future. In 2022, avatarin Inc. received the Prime Minister's Award for the most outstanding achievement in the 4th Japan Open Innovation Awards. We also create educational opportunities of space learning programs for children by using an avatar robot, "newme", in the Space Science and Technology Museum at JAXA Tanegashima Space Center. Based on our experiences in space and on the ground, avatarin Inc. currently develops the avatar systems, including “newme”, as well as our proprietary technologies such as communication protocols and remote AI modules to improve the performance of avatar robots.
Target customers are business enterprises that seek solutions utilizing avatar technologies and remote AI customer support services. In particular, companies who face a shortage of skilled personnel in a declining workforce, but seek to maintain and improve customer services by professionals.
