BULL is a start-up focusing on providing cost-effective and efficient products and services in space by utilizing “(Re-) Entry” technology. By developing devices to prevent the generation of space debris orbital utilization technologies (including microgravity experimental devices), BULL contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in this new era of space exploration. We have formed a solid foundation of collaboration among industry, academia, local/national government and finance sectors at Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has selected us for a grant of EUR 9 million grant for the purpose of accelerating current R&D for the “Development and demonstration of de-orbit acceleration devices to prevent debris formation of satellites and other equipment.” We have also partnered with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. and JAXA. As of June 20, 2024, JAXA and BULL have started co-creation activities for future integration of our PMD (Post Mission Disposal) device onto JAXA’s Epsilon S Rocket. * PMD (Post Mission Disposal) Our unique PMD device, designed to prevent the generation of space debris, are pre-installed to spacecrafts (rockets and satellites) before launch. It uses atmospheric drag to safely deorbit these objects once targeted spacecrafts' missions are completed. The PMD is compact, lightweight, and versatility for various spacecrafts, offering high reliability for use in LEO orbit, which is in high demand in the space industry today.
